Lotta is a truly inspirational teacher travelling the world to share her knowledge and experience from almost 30 years of the traditional mysore style of practice as taught by the late Sri K Pattabhi Jois and now by his grandson R Sharath Jois. When she found Ashtanga Yoga in the late 1990s she was immediately drawn to the practice saying “it felt like coming home”. It has been a big part of her life ever since.
Lotta has an exceptional personal practice built by approaching the challenges with dedication, love, curiosity, energy and gratefulness. She balances her practice with a busy work schedule, teaching and her family of two adult children and two beautiful grandchildren
We would love you to join us for a deep-dive into this very special practice with plenty of help, hints and tips to make sure you leave inspired and excited about your own practice. Lotta is also well known for her handstands and loves being upside down. She will share lots of ideas and support you to develop your handstands whether you are a total beginner or already confident upside down.
It will be a fun filled, inclusive, weekend from Friday evening through to Sunday and we can’t wait to see you there 🧡

Imagine you go to a yin class but you recognise the poses from the Ashtanga sequence - A mix of standing and seated postures and maybe some poses from intermediate series too, in a wonderful slow flow. The perfect start to the weekend 🧡

Ashtanga practice in the traditional method of self practice. You will be fully supported no matter where your are on your journey of Ashtanga - everyone welcome, beginner through to seasoned Ashtangi
Short warmup for shoulders, wrists with some awakening of the core, followed by pure handstand practice. This workshop is suitable for all levels so if you’re an absolute beginner, lets get you kicking up and balancing on your hands, for those already confident on their hands, we’ll look at alignment and skills to take you to the stage in your handstand journey.

We will begin to explore your natural potential for backbends with safety, support and fun!
The secrets of deep backbends are available to you through natural alignment techniques and relevant stretches to create openness in the front body.
The dynamic movement mechanics of bending your spine are the key to keep your spine strong and flexible
Discussion on the workshops and anything else that you could have in mind. Lotta will share how her yoga journey was and how it developed over time and how ageing can be addressed in sensible and meaningful way.

The studio is fully equipped but do feel free to bring your own mat.
The closest train station is Stockport, although we are not too far away from Manchester Airport.
If you are travelling and looking to stay over for the event please do email us on info@yogasangha.co.uk and we will do our best to recommend accommodation.
There are lots of local cafes, bars and restaurants and we may have some parking available on the day. Although there are 3 large car parks just minutes away.
