About this event

A full moon circle for women who are ready to gather what they’ve grown – and claim what comes next.

There is a particular quality to late September light.

Low. Golden. The kind that makes everything look like it has been here forever, and might not be here much longer.

The farmers used to call this the Harvest Moon – not because it was prettier than other moons, but because it was useful. It rises earlier than any other full moon of the year, staying close to the horizon for several evenings in a row, casting long light across the fields long after sunset. That extra light let farmers keep working. Keep gathering. Keep going until the season was truly done.

They didn’t have the luxury of leaving things half-finished.

Neither, in a quieter way, do we.

This is a different kind of September full moon

Most full moons in September carry gentle, reflective energy. A time to exhale after the summer. To turn a little inward as the nights lengthen.

This year is different.

The September 2026 Harvest Moon peaks on Saturday 26 September – and it rises in Aries.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. Fire. Courage. The energy that knows its own mind. It is not, by nature, a soft or patient energy. And when the Harvest Moon – a moon of gathering, completion and gratitude – rises inside that fire, it doesn’t just ask you to look back at what you’ve grown this year.

It asks you to decide what you’re brave enough to claim next.

That combination of honouring what has been and choosing what comes next is the invitation I’ve been sitting with for weeks. And it’s the reason I’ve designed this month’s full moon circle the way I have.

What the evening looks like at the full moon circle Manchester

The Full Moon Circle meets at Yoga Sangha in Cheadle, South Manchester on the evening of Sunday 27 September – the day after the full moon peaks, when its light is still full and the energy is alive.

It is not a class. Not a workshop. Not a group therapy session. There is no agenda to get through and no expectation to perform.

It is a room. Lit softly. Held gently. Open to whatever you bring through the door with you.

The evening moves through four parts:

A 30-minute guided meditation – a journey through an imagined harvest field beneath the full moon. You will walk through what has grown this year. You will see what is ready to be set down. And you will stand at the edge of the fire – the Aries part of this moon – and let yourself feel what you want next. Not the edited version. The real one.

30 minutes of private journalling – you will write about what you are ready to release. What has completed its season. What has been heavy. There is no sharing circle. What goes on the page stays there, or comes home with you. Nothing leaves this room without your choosing.

A simple ritual – each person will write what is finished on a paper leaf and place it beside the candle. Each person will write what they are brave enough to admit they want on a small card to take home. Each person will choose one thing – one small, honest thing – they will do before the next full moon to honour that desire.

A final journalling prompt – the question that closes the evening. The one the whole night has been building towards.

There is no pressure to speak at any point. You do not have to share what you’ve written. You do not have to explain yourself, your grief, your losses, your life. You only have to arrive.

Who this evening is for

You might be going through an obvious loss – a bereavement, a relationship ending, a role or an identity that no longer fits.

You might simply feel that this year has asked a lot of you, and you haven’t yet had a moment to take stock of it.

You might have something you’ve been wanting – a quiet, persistent wanting you’ve learned to dismiss as impractical, or unrealistic, or too much – and you haven’t told a soul.

You might not know what you’re carrying until you sit in a quiet room with a candle and a journal and thirty minutes of space.

All of that is welcome here.

The Harvest Moon doesn’t require you to have everything figured out. It only requires you to be honest about where you are.

A little about why I created this circle

I went looking for a space like this after my mum died.

A space that wasn’t a grief support group, wasn’t a class, wasn’t a programme with five modules and a certificate at the end. Just a room where I could sit with what I was feeling without having to make it useful.

I couldn’t find it. So I built it.

The monthly full moon circle is part of that same intention. An evening shaped around the particular energy of each moon – because grief and growth and wanting are not static. They shift with the seasons. They deserve to be met where they are.

In August, the circle held the question of what are you ready to put down?

In September, beneath the Harvest Moon and its Aries fire, we hold two things at once: what have you grown, and what are you brave enough to want next?

That is not a small question. It is the most honest question the year will ask you before it begins its long turn inward.

Mats, a journal and a pen are provided. Please bring a cushion or blanket, a bottle of water, and comfortable clothes. Bring whatever you’re carrying. There is room for it here.

Places are limited.
