On behalf of all the sangha team, we wish you and yours a very happy 2026! May the year be full of peace, happiness, good health, new adventures, and all the positivity you wish for yourself!
Wishes are important in yoga, they equate to intention, and they are a perfect way to begin a new Year.
This time of year can often feel a bit intimidating, almost scary. Letting go of the old, the arrival of the new, the anticipation, yet not knowing what the year has in store. We tend to begin focused on what we didn’t achieve last year, often setting impossible resolutions for ourselves that we break by day 3, so that the entire process feels a bit counterproductive! Its interesting too, that so many of our resolutions are about things we’re not going to do: not eating chocolate etc, rather than things we want to accomplish.
That’s why; in yoga, we focus on intention, energy, resolve. Wishes that feel accessible, easy to embody and practice on or off a yoga mat, wherever you are.
Try this ….. take a blank piece of paper and give yourself some space to think about the qualities that matter most to you, and those you want to feel more of in your life through-out the coming year.
You might choose things like happiness, vitality, energy, health, contentment. If you want, you can add actions under each, so for happiness, you might say ‘seeing more friends, doing more yoga, having more chill time, but simply choosing the qualities without actions is fine too.
Carry these with you and take a moment or 2 at the beginning or end of each day to reflect on how these qualities are manifesting in your life, relationships, work and yoga practice. This feels like a much more gentle and mindful way to start the year. Goals matter in yoga too, but we’ll return to those in the Spring, when we’re a little more settled in the year and ready for challenges. If goals do help you though and you want a few exciting milestones on the calendar, we already have some beautiful offerings scheduled in 2026,. Whatever your practice, there’s something for everyone, so take a look and perhaps start the year by making a commitment to you, your nourishment and yoga journey in the year to come.
Whatever 2026 holds for you, this amazing Sangha is here to hold, support and guide you through; and we are very much looking forward to practicing and growing with you in the months ahead.
Happy New Year; with love and gratitude for each one of you.
