About this event

Winter is the quietest point in the seasonal cycle – a time when growth has retreated, energy is conserved and much of the natural world has become still. Yet for us, December can be one of the busiest months of the year. Wintering is an invitation to step away from that contradiction for an evening and take our cue from the season instead.

You’re invited to spend 75 candlelit minutes exploring seasonal restorative yoga, aromatherapy and deep rest, with a practice created especially for this quieter point in the year.

Together we’ll move slowly through a small number of deeply supported restorative postures, using bolsters, blankets and props so that the body can become comfortable enough to soften and settle. Along the way, we’ll work with carefully chosen winter aromatics and gentle practices that reflect the season – warmth, stillness, conservation and rest – before finishing with a long final relaxation.

December asks an enormous amount of us. Wintering is an evening that asks almost nothing. There is no need to stretch further, try harder or add another achievement to the end of the year. Instead, we’ll create the conditions to become quiet for a while and allow ourselves to follow some of the same cues we see in the natural world around us.

No previous yoga experience is needed. Everything can be adapted to suit you, and all equipment is provided. Just come warm, comfortable and ready to rest.

You’re always welcome to join us.

Take a little time for yourself – we’d love to see you here.
